Ian Passmore conductsMaestro Ian Passmore on November 20 leads his concert, "Family Meeting!”: A Musical Time Machine.” Composers Pfautsch, Gabrieli, Reger, Elgar, Zwilich, and Haydn, highlight music and musical instruments throughout history. Piano soloist Clare Longendyke will play the Zwilich Peanuts Gallery Suite.

Ian's invitation to this concert:

We are so excited to share this family-friendly program with the Oak Ridge community! In just over an hour’s worth of music, you’ll experience every section — also referred to as “families” —  of the Oak Ridge Symphony, including the chorus. I am also thrilled to introduce my wonderful friend and absolute rockstar pianist Clare Longendyke to our audience!

The program is a musical “time machine,” exploring works by composers ranging from the late 1500s all the way through the present. Along the way, we’ll discuss what each “family" brings to the concert experience and WHY each piece sounds the way it does. The program ends with one of the most thrilling "barn-burners" in the entire orchestral repertoire — Haydn’s 88th Symphony. The performance is Sunday, Nov. 20 and we can’t wait to see you there. Remember: audience members under 18 get in free….
