Kari Novilla
Harp
Kari is an award-winning and multi-genre harpist reaching new horizons with the harp by combining her extensive background in classical harp with the worlds of electronics and jazz. As a previously featured performer for Google and NBC News, she has also appeared as a concerto soloist at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, and was a finalist in the American Harp Society’s National Competition. She made her solo debut in London, United Kingdom at the prestigious Wigmore Hall in 2022 as part of the Crying Out Loud series and later as a soloist for their Wigmore Sessions in 2023 accompanied by her jazz bassist, Myra Brownbridge. Her jazz ensembles, the Kari Novilla Trio and Kari Novilla Sextet, can be found performing all across London and the United States, most recently at the Regent’s Park Summer Jazz Festival and at the Spice of Life Jazz Club in Soho, London. She frequently collaborates with composers, premiering new works both in the UK and internationally. She recently graduated with Distinction with a Masters in Music from the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Professor Emerita of Harp, Skaila Kanga and Professor of Jazz Harp, Park Stickney. Raised in Tennessee, she is committed to promoting inclusivity and diversity in all her work, and she strives to reach under-served communities by producing her own charity concerts and educational programmes internationally.
