Scott Hagarty
Trumpet
Dr. Scott Hagarty is Associate Professor of Trumpet at Tennessee Tech University. Dr. Hagarty is principal trumpet of the Bryan Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Brass Arts Quintet, both in residence at Tennessee Tech. He is also Principal Solo Cornet of the Southern Stars Symphonic Brass Band, based in Crossville, Tennessee. He was previously a member of the Corpus Christi Brass Quintet, the Aurora Brass Quintet, and the Corpus Christi, Victoria (TX) and Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestras and has performed with the Nashville Symphony, Tennessee Philharmonic, Mid-Texas Symphony, Victoria Bach Festival Orchestra, Orchestra Iowa and the Rochester Symphony (MN) among others across the United States. Dr. Hagarty earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a minor in jazz studies from the University of Northern Iowa, Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from Yale University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in trumpet performance with a secondary area in music theory from the University of Minnesota. He was previously Associate Professor of Trumpet at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas.
